Demystifying Coaching: My approach to unlocking more in life

Coaching can be a gamble.

The value depends entirely on the individual coach, their personality, style, view of the world, life experience. I find myself open, but very discerning and very careful in receiving the advice or world-view of others in general, and I extend this to coaches. You’re probably the same, so over the next 3 minutes I’ll detail exactly what I do, and how I do it.

My coaching is not about advice, it’s about helping you look into, connect with, and access your inner landscape, because you have your own answers, own style, own path. I do this through asking probing questions to help make your unconscious conscious. This enables you to find your way, I help you help you.

I hold space for you to process emotions, thoughts, experiences, memories, and make new distinctions. I am unlikely to say ‘here’s my advice’ or ‘I think’, I am more likely to ask ‘what do you take away from that’, ‘what do you feel is the next step?’, ‘what would you do without the thought or worry', or 'is that really true?’.

My coaching is a partnership. I hold non-judgemental space while we move through delicate terrain, and when it comes to the crunch I’ll let you know if your actions don’t appear to match your intentions, or if there is a tough truth to be brough to light. It’s an art and science. It’s about bridging your inner world—invisible thoughts, emotions, and beliefs that guide you—with the outer results you want to achieve.

My Three-Part Approach

I blend evidence-based practices drawn from coaching, psychology, psychotherapy and business to help people unlock more of their lives. Together, we work across all aspects of who you are—Mind, Body, Heart, and Spirit. The result? Deep, sustainable growth that impacts all areas of life.

Here’s my model:

Part 1: Inner Work This is where we dive deep into your inner world. Often, unresolved wounds, unhelpful patterns, and unconscious beliefs are holding you back. In this phase, we explore these hidden areas with curiosity and compassion. The result? Greater clarity, emotional freedom, and the release of what no longer serves you. Clarity is one of the most powerful outcomes of this process. When your heart is clear, your mind is focused, and your path becomes visible.

Our tools: I use validated approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT).

Part 2: Outer Work Insights are only powerful when put into action. This is where we turn your clarity into forward momentum. Through insights, strategies, purposeful action, and accountability, we focus on the tangible goals and outcomes that matter most to you—whether in your personal or professional life. This process isn’t about quick fixes or surface-level solutions. It’s about building lasting change. We’ll refine your goals, develop a plan, and execute with intention.

Our tools: I focus on crystalising Insights, co-developing strategies, and takeaway actions to move towards goals and embody high-performance. Leadership development is also key here.

Part 3: Personal Power True transformation happens when you reconnect with your authentic self—the part of you that is courageous, creative, and resourceful. You already have everything you need within you to create an extraordinary life. My role is to guide you in accessing this power directly, your True Self, Your Authentic Self. As you re-connect directly you overcome doubt and external circumstances to take inspired action, no matter what’s happening in your world.

Our tools: I focus on helping you connect with your Intuition and Instinct, helping your connect with your Purpose and Mission, and supporting your process of self-actualisation.

So, what’s the point of all this?

When your inner world is accessed, everything changes, and your actions align to your core. You gain clarity about who you are, confidence in what you want, and discover the tools to make it happen. It’s not just about achieving goals; it’s about becoming the kind of person who thrives while pursuing them. It’s about building a life that feels deeply fulfilling, energised, and purposeful.

If you’ve ever felt stuck, unclear, or like there’s something more waiting for you, coaching can be the bridge to get you there. The curious paradox is this: When you fully accept yourself as you are, real change becomes possible.
